Collecting Ice Core Samples Everest’s Death Zone (26,000ft+)

“Ice cores are the most robust tool we have for looking at past climate.”

By extracting ice cores from the highest glacier in the world, a team of scientists and Sherpa guides from National Geographic and Rolex Perpetual Planet Everest Expedition have begun to uncover details about climate change that have been hidden in some of the most deadly terrain in the world. Much respect to these climate scientists and their support team for putting risking their wellbeing and collecting ice cores from the death zone (26,000ft+). Thank you.
