A skier who claims to have been hit by a drunk skier at Aspen Highlands, CO on February 20th believes they have found the man who hit them by combing through Instagram images from the day of the accident.

The victim, from Illinois, claims that they were thrown up to 20-yards by a skier who was skiing fast and intoxicated on the catwalk at the bottom of Upper Jerome. The man reportedly stopped and approach the victim but failed to exchange any details before skiing off.

Dimitri Katamanin, the alleged suspect, posted images and video to Instagram an hour before the incident of himself partying and drinking at the on-mountain Cloud Nine Bistro.

A lawsuit in Pitkin County District Court said Dimitri Katamanin ran afoul of Colorado’s Ski Safety Act. A court clerk told The Aspen Times on Wednesday that a complaint was filed on May 13 with Pitkin County District Court but has not been served on the defendant.

The victim, from Illinois, suffered a broken humerus amongst other injuries in the collision.
