Alex Honnold’s mom started running at 54 and went on to compete in several marathons. At age 58 she decided to start climbing under the watchful tutelage of her son and at age 66 she became the oldest woman to summit El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.

Dierdre Wolownick is an absolute inspiration for those of us looking to start pursuing adventure sports at any point in life.
