An inbounds avalanche on January 7th at Silver Mountain Ski Resort, ID killed two skiers and injured five others. According to a Facebook post by the resort, avalanches were triggered at around 11am in the Wardner Peak area of the ski resort after AC work had been completed.

The three slides traveled down Morning Star and 16-to-1 runs, which had recently opened by the patrol.The resort reported 26 inches of snowfall in the past couple of days, much of it wet and heavy. Unconfirmed reports are that one skier was found under as much as 10-feet of snow.
