What are the first stats you look at when you’re scoping out a new resort? Probably acreage, number of trails, annual snowfall, and vertical.
A site called Mountain Vertical has developed a stat called “True-Up Vertical” to identify the most accurate skiable vertical drop of resorts across North America. They have reevaluated the resort’s advertised vertical and have determined “True-Up” vertical to exclude vertical accounted for long cat-walks, terrain that can’t be skied in one run, and other factors. I encourage you to check out the full site here.
Here are the 10 resorts with the largest vertical according to Mountain Vertical and True-Up stats.
