A snowstorm hitting California has to lead to Yosemite National Park officials announcing that Tioga Pass on Highway 120 will close temporarily due to snow. Tioga Pass is the only eastern entrance into the National Park.
“Tioga Road (continuation of Highway 120 through the park) will temporarily close on Saturday, September 28, at 4 pm. The closure will be from South Fork Tuolumne River (west of White Wolf) to Tioga Pass. Glacier Point Road will temporarily close on Friday, September 27, at 8 pm.
These closures are due to a forecast of snow. Both roads will open on Monday, conditions permitting. Call 209/372-0200 (then 1, 1) for updates.” – Yosemite National Park, CA on 9/27/19
