Really digging this clever device developed out of upstate New York that makes the getting your ski boots on and off a breeze. The K-K Ski Boot Jack secures a boot in place to allow the wearer to easily slip a foot into the boot or to lift his or her foot out of the boot. MPN Now reports the inventor, John Crowley, has patented the device and will be marketing it to ski centers, resorts, and sporting goods retailers this fall.
Crowley is a serial inventor who has already created a mini-excavator for powered log splitter and a specialized plastic horn for handling steer. His latest invention started with a desire for a better way to remove his cowboy boots at the end of the day. His patent attorney happened to be a skier and suggested the ski application might be more profitable.
So far 10 have been built and demoed at local ski lodges where they have been met with enthusiastic responses by testers. The boot jack is adjustable so it can easily be used by skiers of all sizes- from children to adult size 14 1/2.
