Red Bull Paying $10 To Canadians Who Thought "It Would Actually Give Them Wings"

Sounds like a joke of a headline but the $850,000 Red Bull has agreed to pay out after settling a Canadian class-action lawsuit is very much real. DailyHive reports the company’s famous slogan “Red Bull Gives You Wings” was the basis of a lawsuit filed by Michael Attar in February 2019.

Attar originally tried to get paid out from a US settlement with Red Bull but was unable to do so. The lawsuit filed in Canada is a near carbon copy of its American counterpart with one major addition. Attar claimed that Red Bull did not provide sufficient information regarding mixing the drink with alcohol.

Red Bull says it’s in compliance with all regulatory requirements for labelling, including labelling requirements regarding mixing with alcohol but agreed to settle the class action to “avoid the distraction of litigation in Canada.”

Any Canadians who purchased the drink between January 1, 2007, to July 23, 2019, could be eligible to a $10 compensation from the settlement. If you want to make a claim you can HERE.

***Red Bull may not give you actually wings but they sure do support the action sports across the spectrum and have so for since the start and we sure do appreciate them.

This is the original ad that launched the slogan back in 2000:
