This time of year should be the hart of the winter season for the central Andes with ski resorts enjoying deep snowpacks and full beds. But it seems that 2019 is gonna be a lost season for many Chilian and Argentinan ski resorts. This winter has been just abysmal for ski resorts around Santiago, Chile. The much-needed snow has just not materialized, making it impossible for ski areas to get up and running. Ski Arpa, a cat-skiing operation in Chile, is the latest to call it quits.

This is the second season in a row that Ski Apra has dealt with a suboptimal winter season. Last winter Arpa ended their season early due to lack of snow.
