Ski legend Stein Eriksen’s Park City home is on the market. A family trust holding the property listed it for $6.8 million. The Stein Eriksen family home was built in 1997 to evoke the Norwegian countryside. The LA Times reports 7,838-square-foot home is set on a cul-de-sac along the fairway of an adjoining golf course offering unobstructed pasture, mountain and ski-run views. The hardwood floors are reclaimed and interestingly came from Chicago’s Pullman Building and were custom-milled for the residence.

The 5 bedroom, 5.75 bathroom house is set on a little more than half an acre and surrounded by mature landscaping, a spring-fed pond and two streams. Eriksen was the top slalom racer in Norway in 1949. After won gold and silver medals for his country at the 1952 Olympic Games in Oslo he relocated to the United States. He went on to be an influential character in the American ski world and was he director of skiing at the Deer Valley Resort when he passed away at the ripe old age of 88 in 2015. images from redfin.com
