“Off the top my mind I’m Avalanche Alex and I’m here to spit some rhymes.”

Big up to Alex Theaker aka Avalanche Alex for communicating his incredible story of avalanche survival through rapping.  The 28-year-old Crested Butte maintenance man was shoveling when he was completely buried in a roof avalanche and was found 2.5 hours later alive with a core temperature of 86 degrees.  Emergency crews found Theaker unconscious and hypothermic with a “basketball-sized” airspace near his face created by a bent arm which saved his life (that and Tupac’s greatest hits). Keep up the rhymes Alex!
