“He was skiing down one of the runs, and went through the fence and went into the river. The netting is only on a little area of the creek. There’s so many more open areas you can still fall into.”

Alpine Meadows Ski Resort in Wisconsin just had its third incident since 2017 of skiers ending up in a freezing cold river at the bottom of ski run. CBS Chicago reports its a tricky place to put a more permanent fence because of the possibility of impact but obviously the plastic fencing isn’t enough to ensure skiers and snowboarders stay out of the river. The ski resort did not reply to a request for comment and resort employees would also not give the name of the resort’s general manager when CBS 2 inquired.
