They say recreational marijuana is a gateway legislation. Actually no they don’t but that’s probably what the opposition to the group Decriminalize Denver thinks. Decriminalize Denver handed over around 9,500 signatures on Monday for an initiative that would make Denver the first American city to decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms aka boomers.
Whether or not the ballot measure will make the trip through all the proper channels and pass is TBD but Oregon’s AG has approved ballot language for a measure that would make psilocybin-containing mushrooms legal so the tide seems to be turning.
