There are certain things in life that just work well together. Spaghetti and meatballs, peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese and tomato soup…I could go on and on.
Bottom line is that these are classic pairings because one compliments the other perfectly. Not to be lost in all of these perfect pairings is skiing and an ice cold craft beer. It’s often said that the best beer you can possibly have is one that you’ve earned at the end of long day skiing.
Thirst quenching and refreshing, a delicious craft brew is the ideal way to cap off your day. Ski Utah is looking to capitalize on this notion with their new partnership with Bohemian Brewery.
This winter, Ski Utah, along with five other resorts, are working as the official partners of Bohemian Brewery and their BrewSki Mountain Lager. “Bohemian’s BrewSki program serves to embrace and celebrate our local ski resort partners,” stated Kelly Schaefer, spokesperson for Bohemian Brewery. “We are looking forward to adding Ski Utah to the mix this season and promoting Utah’s dynamic ski industry to locals and tourists alike.”
Bohemian Brewery’s location actually served as one of the main reasons for their original partnership with Solitude Mountain. Located at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon, they actually share a road with Solitude. However, what started as a convenient partnership, has certainly blossomed and expanded as a result of Bohemian’s dedication to their craft and skiing.
Bohemian Brewery is unique in the sense that they brew all of their beers following reinheitsgebot, a law established in Germany over 500 years ago. Reinheitsgebot states that beers can only be brewed using four ingredients, barley, hops, water and yeast in order to maintain the purity of the beer. This old school method of brewing is rarely followed in the U.S. and is what sets Bohemian Brewery apart.
“Products like the the BrewSki are what make Utah’s ski and snowboard culture unique,” says Ski Utah President & CEO Nathan Rafferty. “We’re proud to partner with a local brewery like Bohemian to celebrate our ski resorts and provide a fun après product for this season.”
BrewSki is an easy drinking and approachable beer with mild malty sweetness. It will be on draft this season at all of the aforementioned resorts. It is also available throughout the state in a six-pack box containing a unique can design for participating resorts – Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird and Alta – as well as a Ski Utah and Bohemian Brewery can.
