With lift ticket prices skyrocketing over the past decade, honest ski bum are constantly on the hunt for discounted ways to explore new mountains. A growing trend in the ski industry, is gifting free lift tickets to those willing to bring some holiday cheer to the table. For a quick trip to the thrift shop, or costume store, you can ski for free across the country by dressing as Santa or an Elf this holiday season.
Here’s the schedule of places to ski for free this holiday week with a costume or donation.
Lookout Pass, ID on 12/21
The Fine Print: Come Dressed as SANTA or Mrs. Clause and you will receive a FREE Lift ticket for the day from our friends in the Ticket department.
Stop by the lift ticket window dressed in your FULL-ON Santa Suit (Hat, Beard, Red Coat, Red Pants, Black Belt…) and you will be issued a FREE LIFT TICKET for the day.
Snowbird, UT on 12/23
The Fine Print: Join the ‘Santa Squad’ on Christmas Eve for a free ride on the Santa Express. The first 75 people dressed in a complete Santa Claus or Elf suit ski/ride free.
Register at The Activity Center from 9 – 10 am. Santa’s meet back at The Activity Center at 10 am for a group photo and to load the Santa Tram.
Beaver Mountain, UT on 12/24
The Fine Print: Dress likes Santa and ride our lifts for FREE on Dec 24th!
YOU MUST have ALL of the following Santa Suit items: Santa Hat, Santa Coat, Santa Pants and Santa Beard …and be available for a photo-op in front of the lodge at about noon.
Snow Ridge, NY on 12/24
The Fine Print: Join us for a day of FREE skiing and riding this Holiday Season! We’re excited to once again host the Christmas Eve Free Ski Day to benefit our local food banks. Lift tickets on December 24th will be FREE with the donation of 5 canned goods. Help us stock the shelves of the local food banks and lend a hand to our neighbors during this beautiful time of year. Happy Holidays!
Tamarack, ID on 12/25
The Fine Print: That’s right, on December 25, Tamarack Resort will be spreading Christmas cheer by giving away free lift tickets to everyone who arrives at the resort dressed as Old Saint Nick. And we expect the whole kit and caboodle: Santa hats, red coats with white trim, red pants, and beards.
Arrive at the ticket desk, located in the Sports Dome, by 11 A.M. and our Holiday gift to you will be a free day on the slopes. At 1 P.M., we request that all of our Kris Kringles meet at the bottom of the Tamarack Express lift for a brief photo opp, followed by a Christmas-tactular run of shredding Santas.
