Japanese Ski Resort Opens With Costume Party & 650 Tons of Artificial Snow

Looks like a festive kickoff to the 2018/2019 ski season at Fujiyama Snow Resort in Japan. Love the dude snowboarding with a baseball uniform wearing a baseball mitt, thats commitment. Kanpai!

“Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti is famous for always (in recent years) being the first outdoor ski resort in Japan to open every season and like clockwork it gains a lot of publicity for it… albeit with 100% artificial snow. For the 2018-2019 season, one course opened from 19th October 2018.

The resort is located on the southern foothills near Mount Fuji in Susono city, Shizuoka Prefecture. On a clear day some fine views of Mt Fuji can be enjoyed from the slopes. The slopes of this resort actually go down from the main ‘base area’, so the top of the ski lifts are actually by base! Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti is popular with people from the areas to the south of Mt Fuji and also well known for late night opening times… sometimes open ‘all night’.”  – snowjapan.com
