The ski areas of the Canadian Rockies are getting a dose of winter this morning with new snow falling in British Columbia and Alberta. Snowfall totals could reach as much as 20″ by Monday at the upper elevations.

Snowfall Warning [Banff]:

Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm continues.

Heavy snow will end this afternoon or evening. While Jasper and Banff townsites are expected to see some snow, the significant amounts will fall over higher elevations and may pose a hazard along the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93).

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
