The story of a man who disappeared while skiing at Whiteface Mountain in New York only to turn up a week later in California with no explanation always seemed a bit fishy but Toronto Firefighter Danny Filippidis has provided a possible explanation to Canadian news outlets.

Filippidis says that doctors determined he suffered a concussion while skiing in February at Whiteface Mountain which brought about case of amnesia. WCAX3 reports Filippidis thinks he had a bad fall at Whiteface and when he came to he was very disoriented and somehow hitched a ride in a transport truck all the way to Sacramento. Nothing really beyond that to explain the trip or what happened on the road.

Filippidis admits he still finds the trip “overwhelmingly shocking” and he doesn’t remember most of it. Stranger things have happened but this is pretty weird.
