A winter weather advisory has been issued for Northern Montana with up to 8″ forecasted above 8,000 feet reports NOAA.

High mountain passes throughout the western and northern parts of the state will likely be slick throughout the day and travelers should use caution if they plan on driving in this weather.

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches above 6000 feet, with localized amounts up to 8 inches above 8000 feet, are expected.

* WHERE…West Glacier Region.

* WHEN…Until 6 PM MDT this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on low visibility in snow. Snow accumulations will make backcountry travel difficult.
