The Old Farmer’s Almanac (*not to be confused with the Farmer’s Almanac) just issued its 2018/2019 winter weather prediction / forecast and their outlook largely reflects an El Niño influenced weather pattern.

The winner is most definitely the southwest but the intermountain rockies are also forecasted to see mild temps and snowy skies throughout the 18/19 winter season.  The losers, mostly because of warm weather, include the west coast, swaths of central Colorado, as well as the northeast.

The almanac boasts an 80% success rate with its forecasts and the editors claim that last year exceeded the average with what they claim was an 83% correct outlook.
