$1000 smackers will go to the Boyne City Food Pantry after the Michigan ski area stayed open for a record breaking, 145 days.
Boyne Mountain ultimately kept its lifts spinning for one more weekend than Mt Bohemia, making it the winner of a benevolent wager between the two ski areas to see could the slopes stay open the longest. Mount Bohemia applauded the folks at Boyne Mountain saying via instagram post, “congrats to Boyne Mountain on being the last ski resort open in Michigan.”
The season total snowfall for Boyne Mountain was 130″, which was greatly augmented by their snowmaking capabilities. Bohemia on the other hand saw awesome powder conditions throughout much of the season but has limited snowmaking. They reported a season total of 302″ of snow.
