Included in that group is Ullr. The god of snow recently delivered a boatload of fresh for Grand Targhee‘s closing weekend. The snow is blower up top and slightly denser down low according to our sources.

Expect off-and-on snow showers the rest of the weekend as conditions will stay good till closing day on Sunday. Between now and then, the Alta, WY ski area will also host its 7th annual Pond Skim so skiers can get their fair share of carnage between powder laps.

Conditions Announcement:

The exhilaration began early on last night, with thoughts of yesterday’s turns still running rampantly through my head. Snow continued to fall as I sat resting in hopes of feeling rejuvenated and ready for what was to come. The day dreams began. But there was no need for dreaming, because when there’s 6″ in the valley you know there is something magical occurring high above. Smiles and giddiness spread through the house; while gear was laid out and plans were made. Excitement made sleep difficult, but I knew the sooner I fell asleep the faster fresh turns would come.

And now here we are, with 20″ in 24 hours and a whole lot of happiness.
