Another young, winter sports enthusiast has perished after crashing into a snow-fence at Sierra-at-Tahoe last Thursday reports the Sacramento Bee.

The victim, an unidentified 23 year old man, was snowboarding on Lower Snowshoe at the time of the accident. Witnesses indicated the man was riding along when he lost control and slid into a snow-fence. First responders arrived shortly thereafter and attempted to evacuate the fatally injured man. Unfortunately those hopes were dashed when emergency authorities later pronounced the man dead.

It is unclear what injuries were sustained and whether or not the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

*Our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s friends and family.
