Snowbird ski resort in Utah is close today due to near recored high temperatures. Yesterday, temperatures in Salt Lake City reached a high of 64ºF.
Snowbird had opened for the season on Wednesday before having to shutdown after just 3 days of operations.
“Temporary Suspension of Winter Operations. Thanks to all who came out for our season opener and helped celebrate GameDay. While a strong effort was made from our operations team, unseasonably warm weather has forced a “Delay of Game” and put a hold on our skiing/riding operations. Our snowmaking crews are standing by and we will resume winter operations as soon as cold-weather returns.” – Snowbird
Temperatures are currently 20-25ºF above normal in the Snowbird and Salt Lake City area.
