David Poisson has died following a crash during downhill training in Nakiska, Canada.
The 35-year-old Frenchman, who won the bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships, was training with the French alpine team in preparation for the World Cup in Lake Louise, Canada next week.
No further details have been released about the circumstances of the fall.

Poisson has competed on the World Cup tour since his debut in 2004. He had also competed in two Winter Olympics – at Vancouver in 2010 where he finished seventh in the downhill – and at Sochi in 2014.
