Each year US News & World Report ranks their favorite small towns across the USA and this year the mountains beat out the beaches as the best places to visit in 2017.

The list includes Jackson Hole, Aspen, and Santa Fe among 6 other mountain towns in the west. Unfortunately for the east, no New England ski areas made the list but we’re sure they’ll find visitors from nearby New York, Hartford, Providence, and Boston– no problem.
