Sweet Spokes Mobile Popsicle Fending

Seriously brilliant summer money making idea by professional skier and FWT competitor, Hazel Birnbaum, as she has set up a mobile popsicle vending business on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports Hazel’s company Sweet Spokes Pops just started their second season selling homemade popsicles from her tricked out bike which she bought from Craigslist and fixed up with a solar powered freezer.

If you’re looking for a run of the mill artificially colored refined sugar infused frozen water, don’t stop at Sweet Spoke because Hazel’s are locally sourced and organic creations that she handcrafts (but somehow she keeps them affordable at $3-$3.50).

Choices include Apricot and Salted Caramel, Lime and Honeydew, Peach Jalapeño, Raspberry and Basil, Honey Lavender, and Plum and Yogurt just to name a few. She even puts booze in them when she caters wedding and has flavors like Cucumber Gin and Tonic, Minty Mojito, Sangria, and Dark and Stormy.

Keep an eye out for Hazel in South Lake make sure to buy a popsicle and wish her good luck with the upcoming FWT season!
