Ronan Donovan set up a camera trap near a bison carcass in Yellowstone in March 2016 and the results are pretty cool. Donovan installed the camera trap (aka carcass cam) while on assignment covering wolves for National Geographic’s Yellowstone issue. The bison drowned during the harsh winter and provided the perfect place to get a unobstructed view into the scavenging habits of some of the park’s most famous residents. Must have been a stinky time setting the camera up but the results were worth it.
