It’s been a tragic and trying time this week in Olympic Valley after one of its most beloved ski patrollers, Joe Zuiches perished in an avalanche mitigation accident on Tuesday morning.

Since the incident, the skiing community has extended a helping hand to Joe’s family with almost $200,000 dollars being raised to assist his family moving forward.

“The funds will go to the family. Funds will go to any costs for the family around the death or memorial donations as decided by the deceased’s family.” – GoFundMe

Zuiches started working at Squaw Valley in 2012 and was a vibrant and beloved individual in the area since. He is survived by his wife and infant son.
