A group of 11 snowboarders triggered an avalanche in Utah and two members of the party were trapped. The details on location are vague but it is known that one of the men broke both of his legs after getting smashed against a tree and the other was buried for an estimated 8 minutes under just 6 to 12 inches of snow.
It is not clear if the anyone was wearing beacons but it was confirmed the rescuers located the buried man because his snowboard was barely poking out of the snow. Please exercise extreme caution out West as this historic snow event has left much of the region in extreme avalanche danger.
