In an effort to block harmful radiation while sourcing building materials from the Martian landscape, a group of NASA engineers is exploring using ice to create living structures on the Red Planet. A newly discovered ice deposit on Mars the size of New Mexico could provide the raw material for space-age 3D printed igloos and a heavy duty plastic outer membrane would protect it from the Martian elements. Very cool.
