According to CheapHotels.org, Vail has topped the list of most expensive winter destinations for winter 2016 -2017. The average nightly hotel rate for the least expensive double room in the area will set you back $243 USD.
The Colorado ski destination is joined by Aspen (#3), Breckenridge (#5), and Park City(#9). The remainder of the list, not surprisingly, is dominated by ski resorts and sun-soaked destinations in the south.

For the report, number crunchers looked at the average nightly rate for the cheapest available double room between December 1 and February 28, 2017. Only hotels with a minimum three-star ranking and positive average guest rating were considered.
