While it hasn’t been the coldest or snowiest start to the season, Loveland Ski Area is putting its best foot forward thanks to the unwavering work of their snowmaking crew. As of 30 minutes ago, that work is paying off with the Clear Creek County ski area opening for business this Thursday– November 10, 2016.
According to the ski area’s Facebook page, Lift 1 will be open from 9am-4pm with one top-to-bottom run open to the public. All in all, the snowmaking base depth is roughly 18″ but thanks to a bit of natural snowfall on Saturday, the snow conditions are looking pretty good this week.
“The persistent warm weather made things difficult this fall, but our snowmaking team has done an amazing job getting the mountain ready for opening day.” – Rob Goodell, Loveland Ski Area Director of Business Operations
As long as freezing temps persist, snow makers are planning on putting the finishing touches on lower Homerun, giving skiers a prime time snow sliding surface on Thursday.
