“We are taking seriously malicious intent to cause harm to others. It is wrong and unlawful to intend to bring harm to others or to retaliate.” – Eagle County Sheriff’s Office

You might have a justified argument why you disagree with mountain bike access but setting traps that could injure anyone who passes (including kids) is twisted.  According to Denver 7, several of these improvised traps were found along the Dirtsurfer mountain bike trail in Eagle County. Authorities warn that surrounding trails have not been searched for similar traps and should be ridden with caution.

What is the proper punishment if the guilty party is found?

Investigators said anyone with information about the crime, or any suspects, should call the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office at (970) 328-8500 or Eagle County Crime Stoppers at 970-328-7007.
