ski rage dad

A New Jersey anesthesiologist accused of punching a 12 year old and striking him with the end of ski pole has pleaded not guilty to the charges as reported by The New Jersey Harold.
Samuel Caruthers of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey was arrested on February 14th at Mountain Creek Resort after the incident that was reportedly started after the 12 year old fell in to Caruthers and his child who were skiing on the mountain. He faces several charges including third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon. The weapon charges stem from the use of a ski pole in the altercation.
Caruthers was rejected from the states pre-trial intervention program that gives first-time, non-violent offenders the opportunity to have charges dropped if they comply with certain conditions. Caruthers attorney will consider appealing that decision and Caruthers will appear in court on September 19th.
We will be sure to update this story as the court proceedings progress.
