It’s beginning to look a lot like ski season in New Zealand after 3 feet of snow fell in a 24 hour period on The Remarkables ski area outside of Queenstown.

And while The Remarkables was obviously the bread winner, Coronet Peak also walked away with significant accumulations. Coronet Peak is currently reporting 8″ of fresh at the summit and the good news doesn’t stop there. As of now, forecasts are calling for cold temps and additional snowfall for both ski areas throughout the week, which should bode well for early season skiing and riding on the southern island of New Zealand.
