Whistler Blackcomb has been unusually blessed this year as low expectations from fall forecasts have been overturned by droves of storms hitting the BC resort in October, November, and December. The result– A happy group of resort officials reading the quarterly report, which demonstrates that this has been the busiest first 1/2 of the season ever for the BC resort!

Record # Of Skier-Visits @Whistler in 2015: 1.14 million

Over those three months, 502,000 skiers visited Whistler reports Pique. That number is  23.3% higher than at the same time last year and with 8 million in planned improvements, the future is looking bright. Those improvements include a renovation of on-mountain dining, beginner slopes, as well as a sundeck on which to view the surrounding glacier.

Yet while much of Canada remains in distress over their oil-tied dollar, Whistler Blackcomb has most likely seen a bump in business due to the weak currency, which is allowing for more skiers to visit a resort once thought of as the Aspen of British Columbia.
