It is with heavy hearts that we report that a skier passed away today at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. A female skier was found unconscious at 11:02 A.M. on the left of Sundance Run, underneath the Bridger Gondola. Ski patrol responded to the call, administered life supporting efforts, and help to transport the women to St. John’s Clinic in Teton Village.
She was pronounced dead at 11:38 A.M.
The skier has been identified as 25-year old Kelsey Hewitt. Hewitt had recently moved to the Jackson area earlier this month from Portland, Oregon. She was working at Jackson Hole Sports.
Apparently she died after falling into a tree well.
This is the second death of the season at JHMR. On December 7th snowboarder Callagy Ross, 23, died after losing control on a cat-track.
Our deepest condolences go out to Kelsey family and friends.
