With photo titles like Liquid Moutain Top and Lake Erie Monster photographer Dave Saford’s recent work captures the often underestimated power of The Great Lakes. Saford grew up on the shores of Lake Erie in Ontario, Canada and has made his living as a sports photographer for the past 18 years but lately his lens has been pointed at his backyard. The photos featured were taken during the month of November as the lake conditions churned up producing these powerful landscapess. During his sessions wind speeds were often sustained at +25mph and gusted at +60mph. He is a hearty soul to endured the cold and dangerous waters just to capture these perfectly chaotic moments that take on an almost otherworldly character when frozen in time.
