NOAA: Mt. Baker Forecasted to Receive Over 9 Feet of Snow in the Next 3 Days!

NOAA has issued a Winter Storm Watch for parts of Washington State. The National Weather Service is calling for 8-12″ of snow above 3,000-feet, but at the top of Mt Baker, above 10,000ft, NOAA is forecasting as much as 112″ of snow in the next 3 days!

Please note that Mt Bake ski area, which tops out at 5,089 feet, is forecasted to receive a more modest 8-12″ over the next few days.

Snow after 4pm. High near 24. Breezy, with a south wind around 23 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight
Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 22. Windy, with a south southeast wind 23 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 14 to 20 inches possible.

Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Temperature rising to near 24 by 11am, then falling to around 13 during the remainder of the day. Windy, with a south wind around 32 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 30 to 36 inches possible.
