Winter Weather Advisory

A winter system is expected to drop into the Sierra and western Nevada Saturday night into Sunday bringing snow to the region. This is a colder system and snow levels will quickly lower to valley floors on Sunday. Accumulating snow is likely in the Sierra with 6 inches or more possible above 7000 feet and several inches elsewhere. In western Nevada, some snow accumulation is possible Sunday, but confidence is lower. The big thing to take away is that travel is likely to be impacted Saturday night into Sunday, especially in the Sierra. If you have travel plans, please check back for the latest details. NWS RENO
