This ain’t Free Willy. Well not exactly.
On Sunday afternoon, the stuntman sensationalist named Steve-O made his opinion on SeaWorld completely clear by climbing a crane inside a Hollywood area construction site, lighting off fireworks, and painting Sea World Sucks on an inflatable Shamu Whale we all had as kids. He then blew up the inflatable whale. Awesome.
However, Los Angeles authorities don’t think the stunt was awesome at all. In the end, a helicopter, five ambulances, and over 80 firefighters showed up on the scene thinking the stunt may be a suicide attempt by the Jackass star instead of an intentional civil protest piece.

On Instagram Steve-O hinted at the stunt by saying “This is Shammy. We’re gonna do a big dangerous stunt tomorrow in Los Angeles that will probably get me in a lot of trouble, and you can watch it happen at 7pm PST via a live stream on my Facebook page”
As of now, people suspect Steve-O to be booked on charges of trespassing, setting off fireworks without a permit, as well as conspiracy to commit a crime.
He was booked last year after altering a highway sign to make it appear as though it says “Sea World Sucks” instead of the standard Sea World Drive. Also pretty awesome.
Although SeaWorld has attempted to reinvent itself since the release of the controversial “Black Fish” documentary, profits have taken a monstrous dive and stunts (maybe not as extreme as Steve-O’s) protesting the corporation have become commonplace at SeaWorld Theme Park locations across the country.
