20 year-old snowboarderย Julie Abrahamsen isย luckyย to be alive after spending three daysย lost in the Whistler/Blackcombย backcountry.ย Abrahamsen, who was snowboarding on her own, went missingย Wednesday from Whistler ski resort. ย ย 

The young worman, who was visiting from Norway, was reported missing by her roommate on Friday after she failed toย returned home.

Search and Rescue began searching for Abrahamsen on Friday. Luckily a crew of rescue workers in a helicopter discovered her tracks Saturday afternoon in the Blackcomb backcountry. The tracks eventually led to Abrahamsen who was found on Wedge Mountain, a few miles from resort the boundary. Reports are thatย she was in good spirits and had sustained no serious injuries.

Officialsย said that had she continued on her path, she would have made it to the main road in about two days.
