We are receiving unconfirmed but very reliable reports that KSL has made the decision to rip out CII chairlift this summer. To be honest, I think most Squaw skiers knew this was inevitable since KSL has made no attempt to utilize the chairlift since taking over ownership in 2010. Still this is a huge shame. CII was originally designed to be protected from high winds so that the chair could run on storm days.

If you talk to any powder loving Squaw local they will probably tell you that their biggest gripe since KSL took over ownership is the junk show that has become storm days at Squaw Valley. It is a major concern that will not be solved by simply upgrading Red Dog. By utilizing CII you could have relieved pressure on the KT lift line while simultaneously open up the entire CII area. Such a shame….

We will miss you CII
