Last night at around 8:30p.m. the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Heavenly Ski Resort on a report of an overdue snowboarder. The snowboarder, 24-year-old Corey Hoffman, was boarding with his brother when he became separated on their last run down the mountain.

Douglas County Search and Rescue, El Dorado County SAR and Heavenly Ski Patrol searched throughout the night looking for the lost snowboarder. Rescue crews faced tough weather conditions including snow, wind, and avalanche danger. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office also called in helicopters from Washoe County Sheriff/RAVEN and NAS Fallon to join the search.

This morning, 24-year-old Corey Hoffman, was located in a hotel room in South Lake.
