This avalanche taking out a chair was spectacular to watch a coupla weeks ago. But then it got taken down. Thanks to Alexandre N, a commenter on the original post, we have got another video of the avalanche taking out the chair. HOW TO WATCH THIS VIDEO: 1. First, watch the TV commentator and observe how much work it takes to speak French. Exhausting, right!? 2. Note how the skiers in the foreground of the video don’t even FLINCH! It takes a lot more than an enormous chairlift-crushing avalanche to frazzle a Frenchman. 3. Ponder how the word “avalanche” is very much a french word. Thanks for the cool word Frenchies! FRENCH AVY TAKES OUT CHAIR

This avalanche taking out a chair was spectacular to watch a coupla weeks ago.  But then it got taken down.  Thanks to Alexandre N, a commenter on the original post, we have got another video of the avalanche taking out the chair.

HOW TO WATCH THIS VIDEO:

3.  Ponder how the word “avalanche” is very much a french word & how much more fun it is to say in French than English.

4.  Check out how there are still a lot of skiers on the chair when it gets hit.  Wish my French was better so that I could understand if anyone was injured or if they were all okay

Original Post:

This is one of the crazier slide videos I have ever seen. It happened in St Francois Longchamps in the French Alps yesterday. There has been a recent heatwave in the Alps and things have been ripping very large. It is remarkable how it twists the steel like a paperclip. It is so slow moving yet so destructive. Scary stuff!
