I know that there is going to be a whole lot of controversy over the snow levels and snow amounts of this storm. Snow or Rain in Tahoe?

I know there is going to be controversy over the snow levels and snow amounts of this storm.  Thus, I shall cowardly remove myself from the equation and let Noaa.gov do all the talking on this one.  Trust me, even I was surprised on how much they are claiming.

There are even other reports of more…

Ok, I couldn’t resist, I gotta chime in.  From my experience, when they are talking snow numbers this big and they aren’t sure about snow levels, the snow levels end up higher than they predict.  That said, I bet Granite is gonna be sweet.  It’s my favorite chair and it’s about to prove, once again, why it is such.

“…MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY NIGHT… .A SERIES OF WEATHER SYSTEMS WILL MOVE THROUGH INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BRINGING PERIODS OF PRECIPITATION LATE TONIGHT THROUGH NEXT WEEK. THE FIRST SYSTEM WILL BRING LIGHT PRECIPITATION LATE TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY WITH SNOW LEVELS AROUND 3000 FEET IN SHASTA COUNTY TO AROUND 4500 FEET OVER THE NORTHERN SIERRA. A STRONGER SYSTEM WILL APPROACH MONDAY AND MOVE OVER THE AREA MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY ALONG WITH INCREASED MOISTURE TO BRING SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION TO THE AREA. SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 3500 FEET IN SHASTA COUNTY TO AROUND 5000 FEET OVER THE NORTHERN SIERRA MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY. ADDITIONAL SYSTEMS ARE EXPECTED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK. SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO RISE TO AROUND 7000 FEET WEDNESDAY AND THEN POSSIBLY LOWER INTO THE FOOTHILL ELEVATIONS NEXT WEEKEND.” – Noaa.gov
