Bode Miller’s knee injury will keep out of the rest of the 2012 World Cup Season

This is a tragedy considering it’s happening during America’s golden age of ski racing.  Bode is still our best American male skier and the guy has had an impressive career.  2 overall World Cup titles and 5 Olympic medals (1 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze) proves he’s the real deal.

He was having a strong World Cup season this year before he aggravated his knee in Sochi, Russia.  He only missed the podium for the downhill by .02 seconds that day.

Bode Dominating

Bode recently went to the USA for an evaluation and surgery and hoped to be back competing at Crans Montana this past weekend.  Bode’s knee didn’t agree and now the 33-year old skier plans to undergo arthroscopic surgery on the knee.

“The plan was to come back and race in Crans Montana, but I couldn’t get the range of motion that I needed out of my knee to be competitive.  We thought if I rested a few more days, things would come around, but it didn’t happen.” – Body Miller

This guy is a beast and we’re looking forward to seeing him back out there in the next World Cup season.

“I love ski racing and I love being active so I hope for a solid recovery and to get back to training as soon as possible.  I’m still having fun and as long as skiing is enjoyable, I’m going to continue to do it.” – Bode Miller
