Revelstoke’s Mackenzie Face was today’s big mountain snowboarding comp venue in Revelstoke, B.C.  Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing took 17 men and 6 women to the top of Mackenzie Peak.  The format was one run, winner takes all for the combo of Freeride World Tour and North Face Masters of Snowboarding.

Squaw Valley’s Ralph Backstrom ended up on top with an impressive run that involved a techy entrance and a big double drop to finish.  Ralphy is on fire lately and we’re confident that you’ll be hearing his name a lot more in the near future.  His score was a 92.67 out of 100 and was the high score of the day.

Johnathan Charlet of Chamonix came in second and Blair Habenicht of Crystal Mountain, WA was third.

SNOWBOARD LADIES:

Maria DeBari of Mt. Baker, WA = 1st place

Margo Rozies of France = 2nd place

Shannan Yates of Snowbird, UT = 3rd place

We think it’s very cool that Ralph won this comp in the same place where his late brother Arne also won a coupla years ago.  Congratulation to Ralphy and all the other competitors.  Yeah Ralphy!
