Trees that still have leaves + lots of sticky wet snow + high winds = East Coast Halloween Havoc.

60+ mph winds and up to 27 inches of snow in spots have caused some hell on the East Coast this Halloween weekend.  This storm is breaking records held since the 19th century and states of emergency have been declared in 4 states.

East Coast Halloween Storm 2011:

– 20 year old man electrocuted by downed power line in Springfield

– 84 year old man crushed by tree that fell on his home in Pennsylvania 

– Another person said to have passed in a traffic accident in  Colchester

– States of emergency Declared in New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and parts of New York

– 2.7 million people without power

– 1,000+ flights canceled, all other flights majorly delayed

– Occupy Wall Street protesters are getting hosed…literally

Snow Totals:

– Plainfield, MA = 27.8″

– Windsor, MA = 26″

– Savoy, MA = 24″

– West Milford, NJ = 19”

– Bristol, CT = 12.5″

– Armonk, NY 12.5″

– Newark, NJ = 5.2″

– NYC Central Park = 1.3” (breaks record set in 1869)

– East Coast ski resorts aren’t reporting much.  Most we could find was 9” at Sunday River, ME
